Ark Encounter- Kentucky
Day 1: Field of Dreams, Iowa
Depart from Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge, MN. As we start our journey towards Kentucky we will stop in Dyersville, Iowa to visit the film location of Field of Dreams. This location invokes nostalgia for movie and baseball fans alike. The 1989 blockbuster film is about the power of belief and trusting that anything is possible. We will have two hours to tour the field, farmhouse and check out the gift shop before we get back on the road.

Springfield, Illinois is the next stop where we will check out the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. This museum hosts artifacts from President Lincoln's life, his family, and the Civil War. History buffs, hold on to your stovepipe hats, because you can also see the Gettysburg Address and Emancipation Proclamation documents. Let these historic events remind you of how we are all part of history.

A U.S. national landmark, enjoy sights of sinkholes, streams, and stalactites/mites. This location was discovered in 1883 and gives some credit to two children who came upon the cave and explored it by candlelight. In the afternoon we arrive in Petersburg, Kentucky to experience the Creation Museum! Find out about the interesting science of creation that aligns with Biblical History. This location includes a planetarium, zoo and beautiful exhibits.

Can we talk about how cool this will be to see?! The life-size Ark stands beautifully 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet high. How wonderful to get to, in a way, witness a classic Biblical story. We get to go inside and see more of the Bible come to life with exhibits showcasing different stories.

Day 5: St. Louis Arch, Missouri and Our Lady of the Snows, Illinois
Did you know that the Gateway Arch National Park (St. Louis Arch) is the the tallest manmade monument in the US and the tallest arch in the world? It's also definitely one of the more unique National Parks, people don't realize that it is a National Park!

Founded in 1958, Our Lady of Snows is a National Shrine and is run by the Missionary of Oblates of Mary Immaculate. This shrine honors the occasion in Rome where an apparition of Our Lady appeared to a couple as it snowed in the summertime. Though we won't cover all 200 acres of this shrine, this beautiful area can claim the title of the largest outdoor Marian Shrine in the U.S. Find peaceful time to pray, communal spiritual time, and many different places for reflection. Different locations around this location are Annunciation Garden, Father's Memorial Wall and a replica of the Lourdes Grotto in France.
Day 6: Fulton Sheen tomb, Illinois
Ordained in 1919, Fulton Sheen led a life of dedication to God and was known for bringing Jesus to the world through modern technology. He first had a Sunday night radio show called the Catholic Hour,. For 30 years he was on the Board of Directors of the Catholic Medical Mission Board. He raised millions for missions. The same year he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of New York, he began a television show named 'Life is Worth Living', every Tuesday. He won an Emmy just two years later for 'Most Outstanding Television Personality'.
