EWTN & the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Birmingham, AL:

At EWTN (Eternal World Television Network) pilgrims join the audience of an EWTN live show, attend the televised Mass and attend spiritual talks as part of the organized program for pilgrims. Through adoration, the Shrine leads the soul to contemplate the Face of Christ.

Attending the Casa Maria Retreat weekend is an opportunity to continue your Journey of Faith. From time to time in life, everyone needs to make a good retreat. A well-made retreat brings peace, vitality, and a youthful confidence. Who doesn’t need this? Casa Maria Retreat center has zealous and excellent retreat masters to share with you their experience and knowledge of our holy Catholic Faith. The retreat master for this date is Fr. Angelus Shaughnessy, OFM Cap who at one time was the Father Guardian at EWTN.



The Trip to Birmingham, AL

Day 1: Minneapolis (or your city) - Birmingham, Alabama
Departure will be from Minneapolis/St. Paul airport (or your gateway city) to Birmingham, Alabama. Visit the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), check into hotel, and have an early dinner (on your own) at a nearby restaurant. Return to the EWTN Television Studio where pilgrims can attend the 7pm Live Show with Fr. Mitch Pacwa. Return to Hotel.

Day 2: Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament
Early breakfast at hotel and departure for the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament for Mass (opportunity to hear the nuns singing). Our entire day will be spent at the Shrine with opportunities for joining with the sisters for morning prayer, confession, a spiritual talk, and Healing Service. Relax with free time for gift shopping and personal meditation.

Day 3: Full Day at EWTN
Morning Mass at EWTN, this is the Mass that you see televised when you are watching EWTN at home. After Mass, return to the hotel for breakfast. Reflections for the day as we return to EWTN for Catechesis and Confessions will be offered. Following lunch we have opportunities for Catechesis, Healing Service, or Holy Hour. Join in with the programs being offered for pilgrims that day and possible tour of the EWTN Studio. Depart for retreat.


Day 3-5: Casa Maria Weekend Retreat
Enjoy a weekend retreat at the Casa Maria Retreat Center (located just one mile from EWTN). It begins on Friday evening and is over by 1pm on Sunday afternoon. Treat Master for this date is Fr. Angelus Shaughnessy, OFM Cap. Fr. Shaughnessy at one time was on Staff at EWTN. Return flight on Sunday afternoon.
